Welcome Message

President-Elect, Asian Society of Head and neck Surgical Oncologist; Chairperson, ASHNO Congress 2027

Dear Colleagues, Esteemed Guests, and Friends,

It is my great honor and privilege to welcome you to ASHNO Congress 2027 in Indonesia.

As President-Elect of the Asian Society of Head and Neck Oncology (ASHNO) and Chairperson of ASHNO Congress 2027, I am delighted to invite you to join us for an extraordinary gathering of clinicians, surgeons, researchers, and healthcare professionals from across Asia and beyond. Our theme, “Sea to Summit: Innovating, Bridging Gaps & Driving Change,” reflects both our journey and our shared vision for the future of head and neck oncology.

From the vastness of the sea to the heights of the summit, the journey represents our collective pursuit of excellence. Meaningful progress is rarely achieved alone. It requires the courage to explore new frontiers, the determination to overcome challenges, and, above all, collaboration across disciplines, institutions, and borders.

Innovating means embracing new ideas, technologies, scientific discoveries, and approaches to patient care. Bridging gaps means connecting disciplines, communities, countries, and perspectives so that advances in knowledge and care reach the patients who need them. Driving change means transforming our collective knowledge into meaningful action that improves outcomes and quality of life for people with head and neck cancer.

ASHNO Congress 2027 is more than a scientific meeting. It is a platform for discovery, a space for collaboration, and a catalyst for meaningful change. Through stimulating scientific sessions, thought-provoking discussions, and opportunities to build lasting connections, we hope to inspire ideas and partnerships that will continue long after the congress concludes.

Hosting this congress in Indonesia also gives us an opportunity to celebrate the extraordinary diversity of our region. Across Asia, we work within different cultures, healthcare systems, resources, and clinical environments. These differences present challenges, but they also give us an invaluable opportunity to learn from one another and to develop solutions that are relevant, inclusive, and impactful.

Let us embark on this journey together—from sea to summit—with curiosity, shared purpose, and a commitment to shaping the future of head and neck oncology.

Together, let us innovate without boundaries, bridge gaps through collaboration, and drive change with purpose.

I warmly invite you to be part of ASHNO Congress 2027 and to share this remarkable journey with us.

We look forward to welcoming you to Indonesia, where our journey from Sea to Summit begins.

President, Indonesian Head and Neck Oncology Society ( PERDOKLI/ IHNOS)

Distinguished guests, honorable board members of ASHNO, respected colleagues, ladies, and gentlemen,

A very warm welcome to Surabaya, Indonesia!

It is a profound honor and privilege for me, on behalf of the Indonesian Society of Head and Neck Oncology (PERDOKLI), to welcome you all to The 10th Conference of the Asian Society of Head & Neck Oncology (ASHNO), held in conjunction with The 1st Surabaya Head & Neck Oncology Summit (SHNOS).

This milestone gathering brings together leading experts, clinicians, researchers, and healthcare professionals from across Asia and around the globe. Under our theme, "Sea to Summit: Innovating, Bridging Gaps & Driving Change," we are reminded of our shared responsibility to continuously advance patient care in head and neck oncology.

The journey from the "sea" of foundational research and clinical challenges to the "summit" of scientific breakthroughs requires seamless collaboration. Throughout these four days, from August 5th to 8th, 2027, our goal is to foster meaningful discussions, bridge the gaps in access, knowledge, and clinical outcomes, and ultimately drive positive change for our patients and communities. Surabaya, known as the Heroic City of Indonesia, serves as the perfect backdrop for this summit—a place that embodies resilience, dedication, and progress. I encourage all delegates to not only immerse yourselves in the rich academic programs, interactive workshops, and discussions, but also to experience the vibrant culture and warm hospitality of East Java.

I would like to extend my deepest gratitude to the organizing committee, our supporting societies, sponsors, and every individual whose dedication made this prestigious event possible.
